I Believe Larimer County is a Special Place…

I have lived here since 1974 and have chosen to stay here to raise my family.  I have been married to Aimee for 30 years, and we have been in our home for 20 years.

Our roots go very deep here in Larimer County.

Our love of the mountains and the recreation this area offers, has fit perfectly into our lifestyle.  Like many of you, we are here to stay.

Growing up on a farm in Nebraska taught me a foundation of work, and a love and respect for the land.  One of my hobbies is fly fishing.  My first study of water and wastewater treatment, while at the Larimer County Vo-Tech Center, gave me a knowledge of the challenges we have faced with conservation and availability of quality water.  As we continue to grow, it will be important to address the affordability and availability of housing, and carefully plan our county’s growth.

Ten years ago, the County Commissioners appointed me to the Larimer County Planning Commission.  This has been a fantastic training ground for the job of Larimer County Commissioner.

The responsibility of your County Commissioner is to set priorities in policy and approve the budgets of all departments of the county. First and foremost, your county government is a service organization. We are responsible for Public Safety and the administration of policies and programs set up by the State of Colorado.

I have spent my career developing and fixing businesses. I have an extensive background in budgeting and policy making from the highest levels of an organization. My executive experience and skill sets fit the role of Larimer County Commissioner perfectly. I have spent the last 10 years preparing, being educated, and building the necessary relationships to carry out the vision of Larimer County. I was a part of writing the new Comprehensive Plan, a 20-year vision, for Larimer County that was adopted last summer.
